Friday SEPT 28th: Cosmic American proudly presents: JOHN POWER
7pm - 10pm Advance tickets £8

As well as providing the pulse for The La’s, John Power clearly has his own path to follow. Genial, re-energised (he’s newly married) and looking into a sunlit future, he’s already thinking about his next album. In parting he speaks of the commonality of music from the world over, and how the human ear recognises universal melodic phrases, and how we all see ourselves in traditional songs that pre-date us and will survive us too…
It sounds familiar; in this way, Willow She Weeps, his first true solo album, is a fair exchange between him and you, and you and him. “I’ve come full circle,” he says, “and now I wanna get active and do what I do, and get this thing moving. After all this time, I’m only just starting now to look forward.”

(and very special guest DJ's: METRONOMY & MYSTERY JETS)
9pm - 3am Adv. £4
Indie/Electro club night with Radar resident DJ's & the best in NEW MUSIC
Introducing The Displacements, a young band from Leicester with big ideas. They formed a few years ago, Andy, Nick, Schwill and Bone – mates and brothers picking up instruments and learning to play them together in the front room of their house.
The displacements honed their talents playing free gigs in local pubs and getting all of their mates rammed in. They then started touring and playing gigs all over the country travelling in the backs of vans and big red trucks. The lads spent many nights writing songs in their hometown, inspired by the bands they loved, the girls they liked, the things they’ve seen and the nights out they’ve had.
Their style has been likened to The Who, a Hamburg era Beatles, The Kinks and even Scouse Horror! Or as one reviewer put it: Think Motown meets the Clash after a pint with circa 1966 Mick n Keef along the way"They then started running their own club night in Leicester, each one they put on sold out and a real buzz started. After a riotous set at the summer sundae festival, plays on steve lamacq, a manager that goes by the name of Justin, lots of gigs, drinks and songs, they started to receive a lot of industry and A & R attention. Then they wrote this biog…

Monday OCTOBER 8th: CHARLOTTE HATHERLEY + SOMETHING BEGINNING WITH L
8pm - 11pm Advance tickets £7.50
Charlotte was a working rock guitarist even before she left her West London high school. Working towards her A levels during the day, the 15-year old was playing loud, scungy gigs round the London club scene with the proto-riot girl group, Nightnurse.
Aged 17, Charlotte joined Northern Irish rockers Ash, her guitars adding beef to their heavy schedule of live performances. She had two weeks in a rehearsal studio before making her Ash debut at the V97 Festival in front of an audience of 50,000!
Grey Will Fade
In the Summer 2004 when Charlotte commenced an 18 month tour of the world with Ash, her own website 'charlottehatherley.com' was launched with a free download single 'Kim Wilde' to a fantastic response. Her next single 'Summer' was released in the UK in August 2004 and entered the UK national chart at 31.
Charlotte found time to play the headline slot on the Red Marquee stage at Fuji Rock in Japan and play second headline on the Carling Stage at Reading and Leeds festival in the summer of 2005, whilst still touring the world with Ash. In February 2006 Ash and Charlotte parted ways and she is now looking forward to asserting herself as a full time solo artist and hitting the road, starting with a UK tour in February 2007.
The Deep Blue
Charlotte's new album 'The Deep Blue' was written and recorded in Italy in the summer of 2006. The album is produced by Eric Drew Feldman (once part of Captain Beefheart's Magic Band and producer of Frank Black and Deus), Rob Ellis (best known for his work with PJ Harvey) and Charlotte herself, and is mixed by Ben Hillier (Blur, Elbow). The album develops beyond the post-punk melodies of first album 'Grey Will Fade', to a grander, more elaborate sound with influences ranging from Kate Bush to David Bowie to The Flaming Lips. In addition to this ambitious new musical direction, Charlotte has also co-written a remarkable collaboration with one of her musical heroes, XTC's Andy Partridge.
'The Deep Blue' is out on Little Sister Records, set up by Charlotte and her manager Ann-Marie Shields, with distribution by Vital, to make sure the artist has complete creative control.

Mon OCT 15th: PALLADIUM 8pm 'til 10pm Advance £5
Like your guitar bands to wear skinny jeans, namecheck Gang Of Four and display an air of nonchalance? You're in luck – there's about 352,487 of them out there right now, playing soon at a toilet venue near you. Want a band who'll mess with your preconceptions, challenge everything you ever thought about music and force you into a frenzy of fist-pumping joy down the front row? It's time you met Palladium, then – four guys whose very existence demands you build them a brand new pigeonhole.
Here are some of the facts. Palladium formed last September, acquaintances through grueling tours on the session musician circuit. They make music that is epic, joyful and ludicrous, bringing to mind things that you love, and things that might make you feel rather uneasy: Pink Floyd, The Police, Fleetwood Mac's 'Tango In The Night', Steely Dan, Toto, Stevie Wonder, Hall & Oates and The Who in the early 70's. Better still, they wear some of the oddest clothes on earth: tweed jackets, flowery shirts, dangly earrings, bleached hair and golf visors (yep, all at once). On paper they sound like the worst band on earth, right? But then who ever enjoyed a band on paper?
Palladium consist of Peter, Rufio, Fez and Rocky – four supernaturally talented musicians who look like they got lost in fancy dress cupboard, delivering a barrage of positive vibes. Wasn’t rock’n’roll always supposed to be about breaking the rules?

Wed OCT 17th: STEPHANIE DOSEN + JACOB GOLDEN 7pm 'til 10pm Advance £7
ticket price includes FREE entry to club night later... ELECTRIC BANANA (Cheap drinks 'til 3am)

Stephanie Dosen was raised on a peacock farm in Wisconsin. One day while sifting through flotsam in the attic, Stephanie found an old guitar covered in dust. It was her secret prize. During the feather harvest, when everyone was busy, Stephanie would sneak up into the attic to compose songs for boys at school. She also wrote many lullabies for her two favorite pets, a swan and a fox. Stephanie now writes mostly for ghosts with a rusty tape player named jean-pierre that follows her everywhere. He has made it through 7 states and 2 minor sets of injuries but still holds onto her twilight written songs with happiness. The influence of the nightly peacock mewing and swan swimming can still be heard in her music. Her new record a lily for the spectre is filled with driving cradlesongs for ghosts gone astray. She has recently teamed horses with Simon Raymonde (Bella Union Records, Cocteau Twins) who blesses a lily for the spectre with bass and filigree sounds for lost peacocks.

Thrsday OCT 18th RADAR present: REPUBLIC OF LOOSE
9pm - 3am Advance tickets £3

Come join Republic Of Loose; a band as well named as this, their second album. A collective of like-minded souls with a loose aggregation of influences and inspiration. But they’re not some funkateers from LA, Memphis or Philadelphia. This is a bunch of white Dubliners on the musical razzle. And if you have a problem with that, then frontman Mick Pyro, he of the gorgeous white soul voice, will cheerfully stick two fingers in your direction, but in the most academic manner

It all originated from when I was in college, in bands, and going through all kinds of torture about authenticity and what it meant, and trying to find proper voice for the person I was. I started educating myself and reading a lot of shit and I realised that – I know this sounds highfalutin – but authenticity was a construct. And a bogus construct at that, invented by a bunch of wack-jobs outta their heads on opium and nature in the nineteenth century. Once I’d made that revelation, I felt completely liberated. I just stripped down my brain for all the things I liked in music, which all came down to James Brown and The Rolling Stones; they were the cornerstones I could build a foundation on.
Pyro used the Stones as iconic role models. They were listening to contemporary music, the hip shit. Even in the early 1960s, stuff like Howlin’ Wolf would only have been ten years old, so it wasn’t this ancient, archetypal canon of music; it was fresh and immediate. I wondered why can rock’n’roll bands still don’t draw from that source of American music? In England, a whole narrative and self-contained mythology has developed about rock music so it’s hard to see the wood for the trees. To me, the Stones went straight to the source, and the fact that they were from such an alien environment to what they were trying to engage in, it made for this weird, new hybrid. We’re not throwing ourselves at the wall and going goofy with it; it’s just fuck the irony and the parody of it, and why not completely immerse ourselves in the music that we love and block out all bullshit and fashion, and create our own values? We know we didn’t look right for R&B, which spurred us on even more! Plus the women at rock gigs are non-existent or bet-down. Its good to watch women dancing!"
By going their own way, Republic Of Loose have forged their own originality and naivety, with a hip-swinging centre that women – and yes, you men too! – love. In any case, the music has its own authenticity because it’s forged from passion and empathy, not from style and careerism, and it’s already paid off; when released in Ireland, Aaagh! reached number two in the charts and garnered two nominations apiece for the prestigious Meteor and Choice Awards. Meanwhile, mesmerising live performances led to tour supports with The Neville Brothers, The Thrills, The Zutons, Scissor Sisters, Alabama 3, Fun Lovin’ Criminals, Snow Patrol, The Roots, and Dilated Peoples, plus festival appearances at Glastonbury, T In The Park, The Fleadh, Oxygen and the Transmusicale, Nice Jazz and Furia Sound festivals in France

Monday OCT 29th: PONY UP
8pm - 11pm Advance tickets £7

Pony Up is your existential dream team. Laura Wills (vocals/keyboard) is the neighbour-girl you watched metamorphose from a heartbroken teen into a cynical sensualist of fully fledged femininity. Sarah K. Ruckus (vocals/guitar) is the hard candy that broke your teeth when you chewed instead of sucked. Lindsay Wills (drums/vocals) is your every secret misery and ecstasy at midnight with the lights out. And Lisa J. Smith (bass/vocals) is the perfidious lover who mends your heart by moonlight only to break it again over breakfast. From amidst the mock-depravity and pseudo-intellectualism of all that is hip, from amidst the scenester wank-rock and the tearful art-house bedarkening the musical West from Williamsburg to Mile End, emerge Montreal’s ever poignant, ever jubilant Pony Up. Combining the sapphic pop sensibility of their debut E.P., with a sad-eyed experiential woe that only time can teach, Make Love to the Judges With Your Eyes is a white-hot light rising from the vain and willful obscurity of our time. Adjectival endorsement and constraining citations of influence be damned: Pony Up are the latter day mistresses of bittersweet revel and they know how it feels.

Wednesday OCT 31st: THE DAYS
7pm - 10pm Advance tickets £5

Drummerless and bored, Simpkins brothers Luke and Dan decided to visit the local annual Ugborough fair day where they bumped into old school associate, me (Harry) and we got on well enough to start jamming. A month later we moved to London together. After a year of relentless rehearsing mixed in with a select batch of dates playing around the London vicinity, we attracted a bit of interest and upon arrival back home in Devon for the summer, and enlisted fellow school buddy and axe wielder Tim Ayers to 'rock us up a bit'. Within two months the four of us were putting pen to paper to our record deal, shaking slightly and wondering what on earth had just happened to us, expecting to wake up at any second.
Present / Future......
Our debut album is due to be released Spring time next year.......... but bare with us, in the mean time we are based in Hollywood pursuing careers in acting... When / if we come back we will reside in various manors around the English countryside, and get on with rehearsing in our barn on Dartmoor, recording b-sides and acoustic tracks, and preparing for the release of our EP next month.
We recorded the majority of the album in Grouse Lodge, Ireland, and made the finishing touches over the border in Kernow (AKA Cornwall) with legendary gentlemen and Producer, John Cornfield at his resident studio, Sawmills. Making the album was stupendously fun but we can't wait to get on tour again and play the songs live. We had a taster of touring at the back end of last year with label mate Paolo Nutini and a brief spell this summer, playing at beach bars around the South West. We are set to go on the road again at the end of October, dates to be confirmed very soon!
As well as touring and the release of our E.P, in the next few weeks we will also appear in a few episodes of internet T.V series, 'Kate Modern', so check it out. We actually really enjoyed the filming process, after initial fears of huge video cameras and cheesy lines we got into it and ended up having a great laugh.

adele was on tour with arab strap when she mentioned to david that she'd an idea for a band called sons and daughters and he said i'll do it and at the same time adele's friend ailidh was turning her dainty hand to any instrument she could pick up so they started recording onto 4 tracks but there was no band yet until adele meets scott right and he's got a guitar and he's an act called march of dimes which is good and soon they all start hanging out and chewing an idea called sons and daughters and before long a practice was booked and it wasn't rubbish then after hot-housing the tunes for a few months a band happened and they got a gig in the thirteenth note in glasgow using guitars mandolins pianos drums bass and tambourines.
then what happened was loads of gigs with good bands and at the same time this new yorker called ben goldberg wanted to put out a record of some tunes on his ba da bing label after hearing some of the songs on a tape so the band got some money together and paid andy miller to do a good job on it in chem 19 which he did and it's called love the cup featuring seven tunes and it's twenty five minutes long.
the band are currently making new tunes to play at gigs and to record and usually say yes so just ask speaking of which adele and ailidh would like new amps also scott would like a shiny new metal necked guitar and david would like some wires that don't explode every second gig.

Monday NOVEMBER 5th: THE KISSAWAY TRAIL + THE AUTUMNS + JACOB GOLDEN
8pm - 11pm Advance tickets £6

Since the recordings for The Kissaway Trail's debut album began in spring 2006, things have exploded around the band.
The self-titled debut was released in the UK in April this year to rave reviews calling it “a savagely beautiful noise” (NME), "the debut album of the year so far." (The Independent) “mesmerising” (The Guardian), “an absolute revelation” (The Fly) and simply, “phenomenal” (Rock Sound). The band’s live performances are also taking the critics by storm, with The Guardian declaring them “this year’s jawdroppers” and Drowned in Sound concluding that, “the whole experience sticks with the attendee for days, weeks afterwards; they should one day, soon, be playing to far larger crowds.”
Hailing from Odense, Denmark, the five young guys in The Kissaway Trail have set sail for new shores, armed with an album full of love, hope and loss. On deck they have their labels Bella Union in the UK, Europe and Japan, and Etch n Sketch in Australia, who after listening to two of the band's songs on MySpace, instantly fell in love with the band and offered to release the album. In Scandinavia, the album is released by Playground Music.

Sunday NOV 11th: B-MOVIE Adv. £10 8pm - 11pm
Formed in Mansfield Nottinghamshire circa 1979...... Critically acclaimed after releases on local label Dead Good Records, the band signed to Some Bizarre and released the brilliant trio of new wave singles Marilyn Dreams, Nowhere Girl and Remembrance Day. Every one an indie classic ! The band played some great gigs and built a strong live following but an album failed to materialise and band members left at the end of 1983. Steve Hovington and Paul Statham carried on with new member Martin Winter and secured a deal with Sire Records. The singles A Letter From Afar and Switch On Switch Off were followed by the debut album Forever Running in 1985. The band disintergrated after this with Hovington forming the band ONE and Statham going on to work with Peter Murphy for a number of years. Various retrospectives and session albums have been released since, whilst the band have played live again recently too.....

Friday NOV 16th: SLEEPING STATES + KOTKI DWA
7pm - 10pm Advance tickets £5

… a musical project undertaken by Markland Starkie, a Midlands-born artist who has so far spent the first half of his twenties living, working and studying in the Big Smoke. Having grown up learning various instruments and classical music theory, Markland became enamoured with the possibilities of noise in a musical context and began experimenting with noise in various bands, including noise-pop outfit Kaito (Mute). After moving to London, and feeling a subsequent sense of dislocation, Markland began a series of home recordings of short songs from the heart that were more minimal in both volume and arrangement, with vocals and melodies that took more of a central role. Sleeping States was born.
Armed with an electric guitar, found sounds, vocal samplers, and a strong DIY punk ethos developed from a love of labels like K and Slampt, Markland has amassed a wealth of material over the past couple of years and has developed a range of ideas within the context of 'the song'; from lovesick ballads (eg. his cover of Bacharach's Don't Make Me Over), to multi-layered choral drone pieces (eg. Counterpoint A/B) to a capella pop (eg. A Trip To NYC) to off-kilter indie rock (eg. I Wonder).
With more instruments than can feasibly be played by one person, Markland has employed a steady throng of contributors for his live performances, though the current core live line-up is completed with Craig Gell (Beacons) on guitar/radios/found sounds and Caroline Banks (Seafood, Caz Mechanic) on drums. The more recent addition of a drummer (Banks joined in 2006) has allowed Markland to rearrange older songs in a live setting and has also helped develop a more structured sound to new recordings. He has even started to reintroduce the more noisy elements of his pre-SS experimentations with, amongst other things, a feedback-drenched interpretation of Trumpet Calls (originally recorded for 'Distances Are Great' LP), which was recently awarded praise from avant-garde noise composer, Rhys Chatham (a live recording of this can be heard at www.myspace.com/tomerecords).

Saturday NOV 17th: Kreepers present: THE CREEPSHOW
8pm - 11pm Advance tickets £10

THE CREEPSHOW is a Horrorbilly outfit that has seemed to come from directly out of the pages of one those lurid pulp magazines deemed illegal by the U.S government in the 1950s for fear it’s contents would hurl the teenage population into reckless abandon, engage in garish sex rites and lewd, wanton behaviours…if THAT was the moral majority’s view of an apocalypse for clean living and wholesomeness…Then THE CREEPSHOW may just be the very pied pipers of debauchery they’ve been dreading… The Creepshow are a soundtrack to back alley knifings and drunken cat fights…. The kind a weak and beaten down tramp doesn’t walk home from…They are of that same drunken and deranged spririt that drove Gene Vincent to drive fulll throttle into a wall only to explode on impact. The Creepshow are no soft-assed candy striped "pop-in-psychos-clothing" kind of band but rather a "broken beer-bottle-in your mouth-knock you down and boot fuck you" kind of band"!!! They are coming to your town and the way I see it, you have two choices:
1) either come and have probably the best time you've had in a long time getting wasted to some kick-ass horrorbilly......
~or~
2) hide in your basement for fear they might come and personally kick your head in.

Friday NOV 23rd: QUI
7pm - 10pm Adv

Qui was founded in 2000 by drummer/vocalist Paul Christensen and guitarist/vocalist Matt Cronk in Los Angeles, CA. Since debuting in LA in early 2001 and the release of their first full-length CD, "Baby Kisses," (Heart of a Champion) in 2003, they have maintained a prodigious pace of both local performances and national tours. Their idiosyncratic blend of punk, noise, metal and experimental genres, coupled with their advanced musical prowess, earned them a small but dedicated following throughout the U.S. In late 2006, Qui was joined by vocalist David Yow of The Jesus Lizard/Scratch Acid fame. Shortly thereafter, the trio released the single, "Today, Gestation" b/w "Freeze" on the Los Angeles-based Infrasonic Sound Recordings label. After a brief spring tour and two acclaimed performances at the South By Southwest music conference in Austin, TX, Qui partnered up with Mike Patton and Greg Werckman's Ipecac Recordings for their forthcoming full-length entitled "Love's Miracle," scheduled for release on September 11, 2007.

Monday NOV 26th: Sonic Cathedral presents: THE WARLOCKS +
8pm - late ? Advance tickets £5

"In many respects, the style-tombs this LA band plunders exist in the underground's collective subconscious. Rhythm guitar and organ combine like nothing but mid-period Velvets; gentler lead flourishes are pure extensions of the Angelino Byrds/Love/Rain Parade tradition; the pulse's slow-moving inevitability and the shimmering, staggering wall of heavy drug imagery are classic Spaceman 3. These building blocks have been utilised by entire generations of sullen youths. But the way the Warlocks assemble them makes it all sound new, loud and ripe. The band's considerable size (they're an octet) gives them a natural sonic width that skinnier combos lack. And their twin drums can conjure up either the 68 Dead or the 78 Cramps (two truly Platonic ideals). But for all this name-checking, the Warlocks' raunch is unique, thuggy and essential". - By Byron Coley, MOJO

2007DECEMBER2007

Tuesday DEC 4th: AKRON/FAMILY + PHOSPHORESCENT
8pm - 11pm Advance tickets £8

Their MySpace says... "Akron/Family are four extremely nice, sincere and well-mannered young men from rural America who came to NYC (in 2002) to make music, hoping to find a thread of real magic still winding through this city's music scene. They certainly did just that, but they did it by retreating into a tiny Brooklyn apartment, where they made their own world instead, in complete and stubborn isolation. They proceeded (while simultaneously growing alarmingly long beards and developing a playful but hermetic quasi-religious/sonic worldview/creed known as 'AK' to make several albums worth of recordings on crude home equipment the material compulsively chopped, spliced, and orchestrated into fractal jewels of song and schismatically opposed atmospheres. They accrued at least 3 albums worth of music in this obsessive manner. Along the way, they sent me the increasingly compelling results. Soon I was completely won over stunned in fact by a show at Brooklyn's Petes Candy Store, where the music veered from gentle American country folk to unabashed electronic noise to gathering and erupting crescendos, to extended skronk improvisations that then suddenly cut to an LSD version of a backwoods barbershop quartet or a Louvin Brothers spiritual sometimes all within the course of one ridiculously long "song" ha ha! Ryan, who sings lead on most of the songs, has one of those pure and sonorous voices that when sliding up to the higher registers inevitably evokes comparisons to angels and elicits uncomfortable feelings in girl and boy alike, but when they all sing together it's like the goddamn Beatles or Beach Boys or maybe an eerie and twisted version of The Band. When we started work on this album we first spent a good deal of time sifting through the trove of already-recorded songs. A few of those are included here with varying amounts of further orchestration. The rest of the songs are highly edited-down studio versions of the abovementioned live "epics", Young God Records not being just yet in the position of being able to release a triple CD debut (!). We've got an enthusiasm for pure sound too that shows through in many of the songs note the squeaking chair in Italy that Miles "played" or the weirdly skewed composition of Suchness (but still a formidable "pop"song, in my opinion), or the "drum" in Rainforest, which is actually all four Akrons simultaneously violently beating their chests, the resulting percussive sound being the air released from their mouths with each beat. As we worked, a song would sometimes be described as too "red" or not "aluminum"enough or some other arcane (to me) reference, but inevitably, corrections made with the aid of a screwdriver or maybe the sanded metal rails of a staircase resulted in an unpredictable but "correct" result. In any event, there's a wealth of sonic variety contained herein, and first and foremost they're great SONGS, and well sung indeed. I certainly hope you enjoy our music".
...and about Phosphorescent - "Pride" the beautiful third album by alt-folk original Phosphorescent (aka Matthew Houck) is released on October 22 by Dead Oceans, the new Austin, TX-based label which is also home to Bishop Allen, Citay, Dirty Projectors (licensed to Rough Trade in the UK), Evangelicals, The Explorers Club and Iran.

Wednesday DEC 5th: THE GOOD LIFE
7pm - 10pm Advance tickets £8

Note: ticket price incl. FREE entry to ELECTRIC BANANA (cheap drinks 'til 3am) club night later.
There's something to be said for throwing down all the money you've won and laying all your cards on the table, face up. It's a gutsy move–one that takes a bit of courage, a bit of crazy, a bit of worry and a staunch belief that the outcome will be well worth the risk. Musically, Omaha, Nebraska's The Good Life lives in a moment of that complexity. Led by Cursive's Tim Kasher (vocals, guitar), the band–featuring Stefanie Drootin (bass), Roger Lewis (drums), and Ryan Fox (guitar, keys)–creates bold songs that are not afraid of the mixed up emotions they describe, sometimes in vicious, heart-battering detail. The characters that inhabit The Good Life songs live on the precipices of courageous, crazy, worrisome and determined, throwing down the hand they’re playing in each relationship they’re trying to save or hoping to begin. Every song on the band's fourth and finest LP, Help Wanted Nights, delivers those perspectives with sheer aplomb–sometimes a little messy, sometimes a little blurred, but never ashamed of asking for what they need.
Recorded by A.J. Mogis in Omaha, NE, the songs on Help Wanted Nights were written to take place in the same small-town bar, and were initially meant as the soundtrack to a screenplay that Kasher started writing in 2006 (he’s since completed it). Unlike Album of the Year’s start-to-finish narratives, these songs seemed to describe moments of raw emotion more than chronicle a linear tale. Keeping with this idea, when it came time to prepare the tunes for the studio, The Good Life decided to keep the songs as close to their original incarnations as possible, spending long practice sessions on arrangements to record them as true to their form as they could. The resulting recordings, all set to tape, show the compositions on Help Wanted Nights as more stripped down and threadbare than previous Good Life creations.
This isn’t to say that the songs on Help Wanted Nights are not expansive; quite the contrary. Akin to stark lyricism of artists like Bruce Springsteen, each track digs into deep emotional territory through its narrative and melodies. Some songs touch on a dark version of Americana, as seen on the grand chords of "You Don’t Feel like Home to Me" and the church organ hum of "Rest Your Head." Others are softer like "So Let Go," which delivers its late-night laments via hushed vocals, moonlit, reverb-driven guitars and washed out cymbals. “Heartbroke” dissects a break-up with a heavy dose of sarcasm, while “Keely Aimee” is the best song Fleetwood Mac never wrote.
Achingly beautiful and sharply astute, Help Wanted Nights details human nature in the most honest way possible, taking risks without regret.

Saturday DEC 8th: JENNY OWEN YOUNGS
7pm - 10pm Advance tickets £6

Jenny Owen Youngs is a feisty, hyper-sensitive, disease-free singer/songwriter/former girl scout who wants to be your friend. claiming influences from Beck to Jesus Christ Superstar to Britney Spears, her music is an echo of Erin Mckeown hopping into Jeff Buckley's Pontiac, cruising backwoods Alabama red dirt roads and singing along to The Sundays and Nick Drake. Her songs straddle the heart-wrenching and the tongue-in-cheek and say giddyup.
Raised in the lush greenery of northwest New Jersey amongst cows, haystacks, and eastern deciduous forest, our heroine began singing immediately upon exiting the womb. After exploring the flute (elementary school) and the tuba (junior high), Jenny finally stepped up to the guitar at the tender age of fourteen and, as they say, got down to business.
Her current goals include musically causing the hair on your arms to stand up, learning greek, and like fellow jersey boy Jon Bon, seeing a million faces and rocking them all.
